About Us

Hey my name is Nic and I am the teacher in Room 9 at Russell Street School! We’ll find out soon what our class name is…  We are a Year 5 and 6 class.   This space is like our 5th wall!

We are keen as to hook up with other classes of the same age from a different country! Contact me: nic@russellst.school.nz if you are keen to meet some cool cats from NZ!

This is a movie we made for our first Board Report and it was due around the same time as the Student Blogging Challenge so we were able to kill two birds with one stone!

  • G’day Nic and students,
Thanks for joining the March 2011 student blogging challenge.

So you can contact other students and look at their blogs, make sure you keep referring to this page on the challenge blog.

If you want to connect with other classes, then check out this link.

Also each week starting in March, check out the student challenge blog for the different activities to do – look at ‘Latest challenge posts’ under the map on the right sidebar.

  • Hey Grade 4 students!

I have been checking out your blog and I’m very impressed. My students (split 3/4) are on their Spring Break right now but I can’t wait to add you onto our Blogroll. My students will enjoy visiting your blog.

We are a class in a small town called North Hatley in Quebec, Canada. This is our first year blogging.

We have joined the March Student Challenge (class) and would love to collaborate with you!

We are going to be collaborating with our ZED school in Japan. Our school board teaches students whose parents perform in the Cirque du Soleil. They are presently in Tokyo, Japan but the 5 students actually come from around the world. They made me think of all of you!

Hope to hear from you soon on.

  • Hello Tekau-Twenty Eleven!
I am a Grade 3 (ages 8-9) teacher from Pennsylvania, USA. I was so happy to find your blog. Cool movie! I can’t wait to share it with my students in school tomorrow. My students are also in the Student Blogging Challenge and we are having fun with it. You can check out our classroom blog here http://mrstinaschmidt.edublogs.org/ and it has links to their Kidblogs on it too. I will add your blog to our blogroll so they can visit you too. I am hoping we can meet you on Skype before the end of our school year in June. We are up for chatting on Edmodo too if you want to try that. Have a nice school break!
