Moon Measurements

This term we are learning about day and night, seasons and the moon orbit. But we are not using books or the internet to research, we are collecting data ourselves to make meaning and model to others. So far this term we haven’t been able to see the moon and sun in the sky at the same time so I took this opportunity when I could… Enjoy!

Your table in your inquiry book should look like this:

As you are collecting your data ask yourself:

How does the shape of the moon change over time?

Why does the moon change over time?

  • Hey guys,
How interesting!! What a great investigation you are doing…I wonder what will happen when there is a full moon…will it be further from the horizon or closer to the horizon? What about from the sun? Hmmm…let me know when you find out!

It’s so hard because of the weather! Hopefully over a month we can collect the data we need. Thanks for your comment Elly!
